The Electric Furnace is a Level 2 Workbench craftable item that can be used to smelt metals and sulfur.
Usage[]
The Electric Furnace can be used after it has been crafted, placed, and wired to a power source. To place the Electric Furnace you must first craft it and move it to your Hotbar, from here you can move it around until the "Ghost Furnace" has turned Blue (Indicating it can be placed) Once the Furnace has been placed it can be operated by a player (Any number of players can operate it at the same time) and shows an empty 1x6 grid.
To use the Electric Furnace a player must have the Electric Furnace connected to a power source such as a Small Battery. The furnace will use 3 rWM per tick when turned on. Players do not have to be near the Furnace for it to operate, and it will stay on until the source of power is interrupted by disconnecting the wire supplying power, using a switch wired into the circuit before the Furnace, or their is insufficient power reaching the Furnace to provide it the 3 power it requires to operate. The Electric Furnace is a termination point for the electrical circuit meaning that unlike items such as the Light it does not have a throughput to allow for additional items to be powered, this means an Electrical Splitter or some other means is usually required to power more than 1 Electric Furnace from a single power supply line.
Unlike the Furnace, the Electric Furnace does not use Wood to smelt items, as a result it does not produce Charcoal. In fact the Electric Furnace won't accept Wood in it's storage slots. Even once Electric Furnaces are unlocked and set up in a base, players may keep a couple Furnaces set up dedicated to burning wood specifically to produce Charcoal as it is a resource required to make gunpowder an important mid to late game item.
The Electric Furnace has 2 slots for raw materials such as metal and sulfur ore, and three slots in which to receive smelted materials.
The Electric Furnace can also be connected to the conveyor system via Storage Adapters, Industrial Conveyors, and Pipes. This allows the player to smelt more ore than would be allowed by the physical limitation of the Electric Furnace as materials can be automatically transported from a storage container such as a Large Chest into the Electric Furnace for smelting, and then back to a storage chest, This means a player can convert all of their stored ore into smelted material while offline without having to log in to replace raw material or worry about wood running out.
Unlike the electricity supply line, the conveyor supply line can be connected in series for Electric Furnaces, this means 3 Electric Furnaces can be connected in a single line via a Storage adapter placed on each with the output from the 1st going straight to the input for the 2nd, then from the 2nd output to the 3rd input, and each Electric Furnace will be supplied with raw material evenly regardless of it is first or last in the sequence, this allows for efficient daisy chaining of the Electric Furnaces with the Storage location creating a closed loop of material transport without any loss in efficiency.
With the Electric Furnace having 2 raw material slots it will smelt both slots simultaneously, making it more efficient to have all raw material slots filled when smelting.
Crafting[]
The Furnace can be crafted with:
- 5 HQM
- 200 Metal Frags
Additionally the player must have the blueprint unlocked and be stood next to a Level 2 or Level 3 Work Bench to create the Electric Furnace
Repairing[]
The Furnace can be repaired with a Hammer doing so requires both HQM and Metal Frags in the players inventory with the amount required being show on screen when the player attempts to repair the Electric Furnace without any HQM or Metal Frags in their inventory
The Furnace can be repaired with a Repair Bench:

Trivia[]
- The Electric Furnace can be heard to hum with an electric buzz when in use similar to a standard electric oven. This sounds is slightly different to the Furnace that uses fire for smelting.
- The Electric Furnace looks like an old fully metal electric oven standing on a foundation of bricks in the style common during the 1950's-60's
