The Bradley APC is an NPC-controlled Infantry Fighting Vehicle hazard which patrols the Rocket Launch Site and the Materials Extraction Site (Hapis Island only). It is designed as a counterweight to the richness of the loot and seems likely to displace that Monument from favor with players who cannot deal with its challenges.
The model is an "M3 Bradley Armored Personnel Carrier (APC)" - hence the name -, and there is space inside of it. It seems likely this is intended to make it potentially usable by the Scientist NPCs or players when they complete their development stage.
There are more differences between the APC and the Attack Helicopter than there are similarities, including the obvious one. While the Helicopter can see all targets within its range, even at night, but will not shoot at poorly armed and armored players, the APC has blind spots and will attack any and all players. The APC can only be damaged by explosive-type damage, where the Helicopter can be hit by bullet damage as well. The respawn rate of the APC seems to be about one hour[verification needed].
The APC model has two automatic weapons on each side, and one in the rear. The turret displays two rockets, a larger automatic weapon, and a main artillery gun. The coaxial machine gun deals 7 damage per bullet and the main cannon deals approximately 25-30 damage per shell. Bradley is also equipped with a spotlight.
Destroying the APC
There are several locations where you can destroy it from. If you are using Rockets it might be preferable to get on a roof whilst when using Timed Explosive Charges, the many buildings are the better choice, with doors in which you can hide in to wait for him to pass and then run out.
The cheapest way of destroying the APC is using a Timed Explosive Charge, a Rocket and a couple of Explosive Bullets. It is recommended to start with the Timed Explosive Charge and finishing it off carefully with the rocket and the bullets.
Using two Timed Explosive Charges works as well, as one doesn't have to carry many different weapons and ammunition. However, it is more expensive and the damage dealt is far above the APC's health.
Note that the APC will start regenerating its health if left undamaged for at least 5 minutes.
|Damage||Weapon||Amount to Destroy Bradley|
|770 Damage||Timed Explosive Charge||2|
|74 Damage||High Velocity Rocket||21|
|2.5 Damage||Explosive 5.56 Rifle Ammo (using a M249)||616|
|3 Damage||Explosive 5.56 Rifle Ammo (using a Assault Rifle)||513|
*Satchel Charges have a chance to dud. When they do, they will fall to the ground and can be picked up again. This can be very tricky while Bradley is still alive.
